Action cameras are a really great way to share your mountain bike ride, with a banging edit or shot, but weโ€™ve all been disappointed by shaky and blurry footage. POV footage of your MTB ride is really easy to capture, and getting it smooth enough to impress isnโ€™t actually all that hard. Itโ€™s something that we get asked a lot about here at GMBN, so here are our top tips

It really helps to use a gimbal, but that can mean investing even more money into an already expensive action camera.

  1. Best setup I've found is my hero 5 session, stabilization on, mounted to the chinbar of a full face helmet. Your head acts like a gimbal naturally and the footage is great. I used cable ties to attach a hero mount. Otherwise just go chesty but make sure it's "cut-off" tight!! Makes the manboobs look great, lol ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ˜œ

  2. Cheap hack – instead of a $500 gimball, just use a chicken. Mount the cam on the chickens head and then the chicken needs to be mounted to your chest… Also makes those bad falls much softer.

  3. 'Off to get some sick pov' ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Interesting vid, I dont tend to film my rides but I can see these tips being pretty helpful for someone else.

  4. I have been waiting for a video like this. Sick. I have been through all the settings in the Hero 7 black and Iโ€™m now getting somewhere. Makes such a difference when my videos are smooth. ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿป
